Overview of NRA Basic Classes
The NRA Basic Courses are intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course is available as an instructor-led course in which you will receive direct instruction throughout the entire course from our NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end. Courses are intended for law-abiding US citizen or legal permanent resident alien adults &/or minors accompanied by a parent or legal guardian (as defined by applicable federal, state or local law) desiring the basic knowledge, skills & attitude necessary for owning, maintaining & using a firearm safely.
Course topics include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, pistol selection and storage, shooting fundamentals, pistol inspection and maintenance, marksmanship, and shooting range safety.
NO live ammunition will be allowed in the classroom. For safety, only “dummy” ammunition will be used for demonstration purposes. During the range portion of the Basic Pistol Shooting Course, students will complete live fire training and a nationally standardized shooting qualification while on the range with one of our NRA Certified Instructor. You may bring your own firearm and ammunition. However, we will also have .22 pistols available for your use. Ammo may also be available for purchase.
Lunches (for full day classes), course material, the exam (when applicable), course completion certificate, and range fees (when applicable) are included with your class. Please contact us if you have a specific date in mind.
**If you have a group of 4 or more students, a classroom, and a range (for shooting classes), we will be happy to come to you!**
**Ladies only classes are also available**
